This is a really good overnight stop, or longer, if you like to fish. There is no shade but we liked being so near the water. The staff was friendly and helpful and we liked the area. The sites were adequate and level. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Do not let some of the previous reviews put you off of this park. This is a wonderful park that knows how to do it right!! The city bus comes right into the park entrance to pick you up as does Gray Line tours. For seeing Washington DC you cannot beat this park. The campsites are more than adequate and level. The park is laid out very well and very clean. The orientation that they offer gives you a great overview of how to get around Washington and an idea of the cost. We will be staying here again in the spring. It is more than worth the cost.
This is a great campground. Since we were here in the off season it was $53 for any site in the campground. We only stayed here one night and moved to a less expensive campground for the next two days. What a mistake! We will stay here again next year. We loved the beach access, the wifi and the staff. The sites are wide and level and concrete. The area around the site is mostly sand but hey, you are at the beach.
This is a great state park with a great location. The staff could use some public relations training, but other wise it was a pleasant stay. We liked the easy access to the beach and to the city. We would stay here again.
This campground was a total surprise. The mobile homes are in a totally separate area and the campground is clean with large, level spaces. The staff was friendly and helpful. You do have to pay extra for the cable TV but it was only $2 per night. It is a little bit of a drive to get back to restaurants but not bad. We would definitely stay here again. We stayed here in a motorhome.
This is a very well maintained and well run campground. The rating would be higher when the swimming pool and golf course are operational again. They are being renovated. The sites are very nice large and level. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is a pretty little park and a great stop if you want to see Savannah but don't want to stay too close to Savannah. It is about an hours drive back to the city. We would definitely stay here again.
This campground was adequate for seeing the outer banks, but I liked a campground further north better. This is on the sound side with no beach access. The staff is friendly and helpful but the wifi does not work anywhere but near the office. The sites are level but just a grass field with utilities scattered around. It is cheaper than most on the island but $44 seemed high for what they had to offer. We might stay here again if other campgrounds were not available.
This is a very friendly campground with level sites. They are typical of New England campgrounds in that it is all grass and gravel. The only disadvantage is there are no sewer hook ups but they do have a dump station and offer honey wagon service. It was very quiet and we would definitely stay here again if in the area.
What the other reviewers have said about this park regarding the potholes are very true. Yes, there are seasonals as well. The park, however, has other redeeming feature. The owner is a 2nd generation owner and takes pride in providing a family environment. We met a few people who come to this campground every year. In our travels in New England, this campground is very typical for the area and we found the staff helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
This park is a mixture of good and bad and that depends on where you park. If you park in the area with 50 amp service the park is pretty good. If you park in the 30 amp service area, the park is a pit. We chose 30 amp service because of the time of year and felt like we were camping in a dump. The sites were not mowed, there was trash in the fire ring and there were monthly residents whose sites were just horrible. The manager was OK when we checked in but nothing special. Might stay here for an emergency overnight but with other parks in the area, it would be only if I had no other choice.
This is a beautiful campground especially if you are a seasonal camper. The pull thru sites are very tight and not very level but the area is very pretty and the management friendly. Would definitely recommend this campground. We only stayed overnight but would come back.
This KOA was all gravel and mud (due to recent rains) but the management was nice. The "premium" sites were in a little better condition that the regular sites but were not worth it for the extra money. Overall an OK overnight stop.
This is a pretty park and especially nice for the weekend member campers. The mini-golf course needs a lot of work, but there are other amenities that are nice. Most of the sites are ok for the bigger rigs and the management is nice.
